James M. Leason, on May 4, 2021, of Washington Twp.; formerly of Camden. Age 73.

Beloved husband of Karen (nee Incudine). Devoted father of James Leason Jr. (Dawn), Jeffrey Leason (Christine), Donna Marie Egan (Michael), Jessica Anne Leason, and Jenna Leason. Loving grandfather of Kristen, Dominic, and Angela Leason; Matthew, Michael, and Justin Leason; Charlotte and Shane Egan; Eva Lauren Henriquez; and the late Michael James Egan. Dear brother of Mark Leason and the late Robert Leason.


James was the Runnemede Police Chief for 18 years with a total of 32 years on the force. He was a Rotarian, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Past President of the Police Chief's Association, and a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. Jim loved working on cars and collecting antique cars. He enjoyed playing poker and watching Western movies. Most of all he was devoted to his family.

There will be a viewing from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday evening and from 9am to 10am Wednesday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 11am Wednesday at Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.

Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hurffville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306.
