Danny Thomas Backhaus
April 2, 1955 - May 4, 2021

BACKHAUS, Danny Thomas, age 66 of Forked River died Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his home. Born in Paterson, he grew up in Waldwick, raised his family for many years in Oakland and retired to Forked River. He was a graduate of Waldwick High School and took great pride in his career as an electrician working at Precision Screen Machine, KOMORI Corporation, Svecia, and Autajon Packaging. He enjoyed spending time down the shore and at Lake George. Surviving is his son Dan Backhaus and wife Megan, daughter Britt Killian and wife Meghan and five grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan Backhaus and Theo, Alice and Maddie Killian. He is also survived by two brothers, Ed and Gary, and three sisters, Carol Bartlett, Betty Ann Talley, and Beverly Backhaus. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Violet, two infant brothers, and his brother Albert Backhaus. Cremation was private and per his wishes, his ashes will be brought to Lake George at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
