Gregory James McCaffrey
November 19, 1950 - May 23, 2021

Gregory James McCaffrey, of Detroit, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at age 70.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Ellen (née Donovan;) their sons Paul (Rachel), Michael (Mary Beth), and Kevin; grandsons Connor, Devon and Aidan; siblings Robert McCaffrey, Jr (Barbara), Patricia McCaffrey-Green, Maureen McCaffrey and Brian McCaffrey, as well as many more loving family and friends. Greg is predeceased by his parents, Robert J. and Helen (Malbouef) McCaffrey.

Greg graduated from Wayne State University. He sang in various choral groups, including Community Chorus of Detroit and Fort Street Presbyterian. In his retirement, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and travel adventures, and being of service to others.

Visitation for Greg will take place on Tuesday, June 1 from 5p-8p at Chas. Verheyden, Inc, 16300 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Park. Funeral Wednesday, June 2; Instate 10:00am until time of Mass 11am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 5900 McClellan, Detroit, MI 48213. Due to ongoing COVID concerns, social distancing and face masks are requested.
