Freese, 89, of Rock Island, formerly of Muscatine, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at her home. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Davenport, where she had been a member. Mrs. Freese was born June 24, 1917, in Muscatine, the daughter of Charles and Hattie (Van Zyle) Turner. She married Robert Freese Oct. 19, 1947, in Rock Island. He died in September of 1995. She worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Kimberly in Davenport, retiring in 1985. She was an excellent housekeeper who made sure her home was always well kept. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all. Survivors include: two daughters, Karen and Robert Wutzke of Littleton, Colo. and Mardee and Skip Blunke of Silvis, Ill.; a son, Stephen Ward of Moline; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Giessregen of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Chief Master Sergeant Gary Ward and Thomas Freese; two sisters, Esther Barth and Hazel Hudson; and a brother, Chester "Chet" Turner.
