Thomas John Stark
April 28, 1956 - May 4, 2021

Thomas Stark Sr passed away May 4th at Mercy hospital after a short illness. He was born April 28th 1956 in Muskegon to James Stark Jr and Dolores (Jenkins) Stark. He lived his life in the area. He was baptized, made his first communion and confirmation at St Thomas Church. He attended Phillips school then went to Catholic Central and graduated in 1974. On April 25th 1979 he married Gwen Haiker at Our Lady of Grace Church. Tom worked as a carpenter and then the business agent for Carpenters local 100 until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed both with family and friends. Tom had a big heart and family was very important. He was most proud of his sons and grandsons. Tom was preceeded in death by his father James Stark Jr, his sister Carolyn Stark, nephew Roger Bird Jr and brother-in-law Dave Mendez. He is survived by his mother Dolores Stark, his wife Gwen Stark, sons Thomas Stark II, Robert (Sarah) Stark and grandsons Levi and Isaac. He is also survived by his siblings Sondra (Don) Brown, Terrie (Rod Allsteen) Bird, Jim (Sue) Stark III, Dave (Katie) Stark, Pat (Chris) Vulgaris, Marilyn (Ron) Rymal and Lori (Joe) Robinson, and Uncle Ray (Kelly) Kopki. His sister in laws Evie Mendez, Jackie (Brian) Smith and Cheri (Scott) Peterson. His brother in laws Scott (Patty) Haiker and Dennis Bromley. His best friends Randy Garvey, Paul Jones, Larry Smith, and Harold Hammond. Tom was also a special uncle to over 100 nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him
A Graveside service at Sullivan township cemetery June 5th at 11am. Celebration of Tom's life will be held at the park behind Sullivan township hall at 1:00 p.m..
