Marvin Russell Putz, age 65 of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at his home. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Marvin's home. Memorials may be made to the family and condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com


The son of Lewis M. and Margaret Ellen (Dittmer) Putz, Marvin was born on March 5, 1956 in Des Moines. He graduated from Southeast Warren High School in 1974. On June 24, 1978, he was united in marriage to Susan Musgrove at the Reasnor United Methodist Church. Marvin worked at Maytag and then TPI in Newton, recently retiring. He was a member of the Open Bible Church in Ankeny. Marvin enjoyed hunting, mowing his yard and could often be found in his shop fixing things, usually making his own parts.

Those left to honor his memory include his three sons, Adam (Kate) Putz, Jason (Tiffany) Putz and Kent Putz; grandchildren, Stella, Grant, Wyatt, River and Hazel; three sisters, Rose Hansen, Mae Chambers and Carol (Dave) Wallace and Sonja Putz. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Sue and seven brothers, Bernard, Jerome, Larry, Delbert, an infant, Keith, Jim, and his twin brother, Martin.
