Marie S. Davis
April 21, 1927 - June 3, 2021
She was a force of nature who defied convention throughout her entire 94 years. With a one-of-a-kind personality, the matriarch of a very girl-driven family, Marie S. Davis "Mama-D" of Ocean City, NJ and Ft. Lauderdale, FL died peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Abington Hospice in Warminster, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, Marie was the daughter of the late Enrico "Henry" and Louise (nee Rocco) Stanziani.
A graduate of Girls High School in Philadelphia, she went into the fashion industry as a model and supported her girls as a single mother before remarrying her beloved husband, Martin Davis, who preceded her in death in 1983. Her dear brother, the Honorable Joseph H. Stanziani and her loyal, longtime companion, Thomas Abdallah also preceded her in death.
The joy derived from her legacy of strength, resilience and sass-fueled confidence lives on through her devoted daughters, Deborah M. Zawila (the late Henry) of Naples, FL and Donna L. Prendergast (the late Francis) of Glenside, PA, four loving granddaughters and eight precious great-grandchildren, most of them girls, too.
It's surreal and so sad to think that the world is now absent of her energy - all of our axis are spinning just a little slower without her draw.
