William J Ewert
September 10, 1946 - June 10, 2021

William J. Ewert, age 74 of Two Rivers died on Thursday morning, June 10, 2021 at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.
Bill was born on September 10, 1946 in Wausau, son of the late Heinz and Eleanor (Woehlent) Ewert. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Navy as a cook and retired after 20 years of service in June of 1985.
On August 18, 1973 Bill married the former Donna L. Taylor in Antigo. Following retirement from the U.S. Navy, he continued to cook for supper clubs until his retirement on December 31, 1999. The couple moved to Two Rivers in 2017 to be closer to family.
He enjoyed playing Cribbage, Farkel and Chess, watching war movies and westerns and listening to the 50's and 60's music.
Survivors include his wife: Donna Ewert, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law: Renee (Shawn) Wilcox, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Brooke Maddix, Manitowoc, Dakota Ewert, Antigo; two great-grandchildren: Paxton and Parker, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Nancy Helman, NC, Ann (Dale) Wagner, Hartford; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack (Shirley) Harder, Antigo, Dennis (Robin) Ewert, Juneau, Heinz (Becky) Ewert Jr., Portage, David (Cindy) Ewert, Hartford; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Loretta Strong, Ella (Dee) Shelley, Barb Taylor, Floyd Taylor, Herb Tetzke, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Heinz and Eleanor Ewert Sr.; one son: Bill Ewert II; two sisters and five brothers-in-law: Bonnie (Del) Verpoorten, Kay Koeberl, Nhyle Helman, Gene Taylor, Clarence Taylor, Walter Strong; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Jerry Ewert, Gene Ewert, Linda Tetzke, Janice Taylor; step-mother: Virginia Cherwinka; step-sister: Eleanor Fischer; step-brother: James Cherwinka.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo. Rev. Marvin Kindle will officiate with Military Honors accorded by the Antigo Veterans at the funeral home following the service. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
