Vernita Lupton
March 7, 1938 - June 22, 2021

Vernita Lupton, of Antigo, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at The Bay at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 83 years old. She was born on March 7, 1938, in Gulliver, Michigan a daughter of Frank and Iva (Strickland) Inman. She married Richard "Dick" Lupton on June 30, 1956, in Manistique, Michigan. He survives.

She was a graduate of Manistique High School in 1956.

She worked as a nurses aid in Manistique, Waukesha, Wisconsin and at Eastview Manor in Antigo. For nine years she was a matron jailer and cook for the Langlade County Sheriff's Department. She drove school bus for Malliette Bus Company in Antigo for 35 years, retiring in 2007.

Vernita enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, completing jigsaw puzzles and cooking.

Survivors including her husband are two daughters, Sandra (Denis) Dugan, New Berlin, Pamela (Michael) Koszuta, Waukesha; two sons, William Lupton, Antigo, Richard (Chantelle) Lupton, Arvada, Colorado; five grandchildren Shane, Cory, Joshua, Joshua (Liz), Adam; one great-granddaughter Lucy; seven step-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle (Allen) Schei, Carson City, Michigan, Stella (Edward) Shea, Carson City, Michigan; other relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ivan Inman.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. John Sass officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Erica Fuller with Inclusa, Jill and her team with Hands with Heart, the Aspirus Dialysis Clinic staff, and ER staff at the hospital for the wonderful care given to Vernita.
