Brian Winn Scharkey, 54, of Rochester, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Mayo Clinic St. Marys Campus.
He was born on October 27, 1966 to LeRoy and Judith (Gauthier) Scharkey in Rochester, MN.
He graduated from Mayo Highschool in 1985. He worked as a cook at Perkins before becoming a custodian at local hotels. He liked studying astronomy and space activity. He also enjoyed Sunday outings with his family to different events.
Brian is survived by his parents, LeRoy and Judith Scharkey of Rochester and brothers, Craig Scharkey of Phoenix, AZ and Todd (Robin) Scharkey of Kasson, MN. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pine Island Cemetery.
