In loving memory of

Marjorie Almira Chester
August 3, 1938 - June 27, 2021

Marjorie Almira Chester, 82, of Rochester died on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Mayo Clinic St. Marys Campus.

Marjorie was born on August 3, 1938 to Roger and Cordula (Bahe) Ruhland in Faribault where she graduated from Bethlehem Academy.

On August 29, 1959 she married Clifford Chester in Faribault. The couple moved to various towns while Clifford served in the U.S. Navy ending up in San Diego for two years. In 1964, the couple moved to Rochester.

Marjorie was an amazing mother as well as a cook, baker, gardener and artist. She would always have homemade treats at the ready for any visitors. She loved her garden and flowers, over the years having turned her yard into a veritable botanical garden, a wonder for all to enjoy; she had a true "green thumb." Marge always cherished the time she got to spend with her family and grandchildren, certainly her greatest joy in life. She was always thinking of others and their needs. Her loss is immeasurable to all who knew and loved her.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Clifford; children, Curtis Chester of Dover, Kenneth Chester of Oakdale and Marie (Jim) Biallas of Eagan; siblings, Jim (Mary Ann) Bahe, Carole (Clayton) Ferrier, Conrad (Ardis) Bahe, John (Debbie) Bahe, Frank (Ronna) Bahe and Pat (Scott Hanks) Blow and four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Preston.

Ken Chester wrote on Jul 5, 2021:

"A better mother there never was; her light, laugh and impish grin shown with the exuberance she felt for life, affecting everyone around her. Those who met her could scarcely forget and those who loved her will never be whole again. This world is now a lesser place but heaven is forever enriched. With God's grace, we'll be together again one day and never be parted again. I love you and miss you so very much my wonderful, most beautiful motherdear!"
