MUSCATINE, Iowa - Dona M. Curry, 99, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Lutheran Living.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Paris White will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery in Keithsburg, Illinois. Pallbearers will be Denny Todd, Ross Todd, Kenny Curry, Eric Curry, Lee White, and Brian Burns. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in honor of Dona to her family. Online Condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Dona was born on August 21, 1921, in Keithsburg, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Ina May Billings Heath. She married Duward Wayne Curry on July 19, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1987.

Dona was a farmer's wife who raised her children and grandchildren with love. Her life was all about her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her family. She worked at Farmall from 1943 to 1950 as a machine operator. Dona worked at the Illinois City grocery store before becoming a postmaster. She was a postmaster for 56 years between Buffalo Prairie and Illinois City Post Offices.

She made the best cherry cheesecake, beef and noodles, vegetable beef soup, orange fluff, and friendship bread. Dona was passionate about the movie, Gone With The Wind. She loved her faithful companion, Molly. Dona could not go anywhere without knowing someone. She enjoyed people and their hugs. Dona loved traveling and watching her grandchildren's sporting events.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Martha Ardene Johanson, Blaine Curry and wife, Linda, and Rick Curry and wife, Marion, all of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren, Richie Todd, Denny Todd and wife, Mel, Ronda White, Ross Todd and wife, Bethanne, Corina Shoemaker and husband, Dave, Teresa Carter and husband, Rob, Jessie Purl and husband, Matthew, Kenny Curry and wife, Genette, Eric Curry and wife, Jody, and Angela Garrison and husband, Mike; 19 great grandchildren, Stanley Todd, Daniel Todd, Lee White, Paris White, Mitchell Todd, Melissa Cassidy, Elizabith Busch and husband, Matt, Brook Tompos and husband, Dan, Christopher Brown, Cory Brown, Stephanie Carter, Dawson Curry, Rebecca Garrison, Victoria Garrison, Auston Garrison, Tyler Garrison, Audrina Curry, and Balin Curry; 10 great great grandchildren; her sister, Anita Cale of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.

Dona is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, George, Katherine Dora, Mary, Irene, Harry Jr., and Ralph.
