JoAnn Marie Miller
November 16, 1943 - June 30, 2021

JoAnn M. (Westra) Miller, age 77, of Rochester, MN passed away June 30, 2021 at the Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester.

JoAnn was born November 16, 1943 to John and Marjorie (Hendrickson) Westra in Pennock, MN. She moved to Rochester in 1957 and remained throughout her lifetime, living for 2 years in New Jersey where her husband of 39 years, William F. Miller, was stationed in the Army. JoAnn graduated from John Marshall High School in 1961 and married William in April of 1962. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends; playing games, taking walks, spending time on the lake shores and fishing. She also enjoyed crafting and volunteering. In her time with us she positively impacted many lives with her love and joyful demeanor as well as her genuine faith and belief in God. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Roger Westra (JoAnn) of High Forest.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Jeffrey Miller (Chris) of St. Paul; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Miller and Josef Miller of St. Paul; William F. Miller of Rochester; her sisters, Mary Nelson (Richard) of Kasson and Carol Slawson-Rupp of Kasson; her brother, Jim Westra (Mary Jo) of Byron; brother-in-law, Richard Miller of Ridge Manor, Florida; and many loved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery Columbarium in Rochester at a later date.
