Robbyn Lynn Sterett
September 17, 1958 - August 23, 2007

Robbyn Sterett TIPTON, Iowa -- Robbyn Lynn Sterett, of Tipton, formerly of Trinidad, Colo., passed away Aug. 23, 2007, at her home. Per her wishes, she was cremated by the Iowa Cremation Society in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service was Aug. 29, at the Senior Housing Division Shelter House in Tipton. A longtime friend, the Rev. Ray Salemink, performed the service. Ms. Sterett was born Oct. 17, 1958, in Chicago, to Richard (Dick) and Barbara Sterett. She moved to Iowa at the age of seven and graduated from Wilton High School in 1976. She moved to Trinidad, Colo., in 1980, with her former husband, Kerry Taube, where she was a wife and mother, raising her boys in the mountains she loved. She moved back to Iowa last year to help her sister care for her mother, who has Alzheimer's. During this time, she endeared many with her gentle way. She spent much time crocheting beautiful afghans, gardening and riding Harleys. She loved the mountains and was a lover of her pets, both dogs and cats. She is survived by her two sons, Ian (Crystal) Taube of Norfolk, Va. and Isaac Taube of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two grandchildren, Steven and Jayda Taube; her mother; her brothers and sister, Richard (Kathy) Sterett of Las Vegas, Randy (Jennifer) Sterett of Santa Ana, Calif. and Susan (Tim) Simester of Tipton; three nephews, Chris Sterett of Las Vegas, Patrick Grijalva of Laramie, Wyo. and Riley Yarbrough of Tipton; five nieces, Haley (Josh) Sterett Payne of Las Vegas, Laura (Harry) Gerboth of Ankeny, Kate Simester of LeClaire and Jordan and Johnna Sterett of Santa Ana, Calif.; many cousins; and a dear uncle, Ward (Verla) Sterett of Rockford, Ill. She was preceded in death by her father; her paternal and maternal grandparents; an aunt; and two uncles.
