Jerry D. Hood, 82 of Marshalltown, IA passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm., Monday, July 12, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Jerry Donald Hood was born December 10, 1938 to Frank and Loretta (Neely) Hood in Big Stone Gap, VA. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ballard on June 6, 1959, later on were divorced. On July 18, 1974 he was united marriage to Evelyn Bass. Jerry was a proud retired Navy Vet. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and you could always find Jerry playing pool, cards, dancing and even listening to music.

Jerry will be missed by his five daughters; Kay Toler of Manchester, TN, Sara Nelson of Marshalltown, IA, Sheryl Smith of Marshalltown, IA, Jana Nichols of Indianola, IA, Dawn (Randy) Hogan of Woden, TX; one step son, Jack Bass of Minnesota, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, parents, one brother, Doug hood and one sister, Ruth Jackson.
