"Family Members, I was unable to come to her service, but want to tell you that she helped in the gift shop at the hospital for years. I have been the manager on and off through the years, and Dorothy was always cheerful and helpful and she sure did volunteer there a long time. Know that this community appreciates that!"

"Dear Bill, Warren and families, It was good to talk to you last week even though it was a sad time for you. Whenever I would see your mother (Toots, as we knew her), the picture would come to mind of her hanging out the wash as I was walking to school...a long ago memory of childhood on Monroe St. May all of you be blessed with many special memories of your mother. Sincerely, Marian"

"I fondly remember Herb & Dorothy as my other "grandparents" when I was a little girl. My parents, Dennis & Barbara Brooke lived next door to them on Monroe Street. I am 40 years old now with four kids of my own, but I still remember cookies from Dorothy, and Herb always gardening. I still have a few little golden books they gave to me with their inscription inside. Dorothy touch my life and has never been forgotten! Denice (Brooke) Westpfahl"

"Dear Warren, Bill and family, We were so sorry to read of your Mother's passing. Please accept our very sincerest sympathies. Your Mom was a dear lady and a beautiful Christian mother and friend. I have so many fond memories of her when we were young and then again when I would return home to attend New Hope. She never forgot who I was and always had that wonderful smile ready for me and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be missed by many but nothing like she will be missed by all of you. Please know that we will hold you in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. May the knowledge that one day you will all be together again sustain you and bring you comfort. In Christian love and sympathy, Ron and Kathy "
