December 9, 1927 - November 20, 2007

ROBERT MINDER MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Robert C. 'Bob' Minder, 79, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at his home. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Walter 'Schootch Paul, Bill Schmalz, Mike Lawrence Sr., Dick Sneddon, Bud Freers, Bill Hoben, Danny Keller Sr., Barry Brauns, and Bob Miller. Casket bearers will be his grandsons, Andy Minder, Steve Minder, Jonny Minder, Ian Minder, Zach Minder and Brian Anderson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or the Muscatine Humane Society. Bob was born on December 9, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Clyde and Clara Mae Smith Minder. He married Dorothy Koenigsaecker in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1970. He later married Pat Troxel in 1980. He was a graduate of the Muscatine High School, Class of 1946. Bob was a lifetime farmer, and had also worked for over 30 years in the Muscatine County Assessor's Office. He also served a four year term on the Muscatine County Board of Supervisors. He was a life member of the Elks, a member of the Moose Lodge, was a past member of the Iowa Assessor's Association, and the West Liberty (Muscatine County) Fair Board. He served on the board of directors of the Muscatine Humane Society retiring in 2007, and also served on the Muscatine County Board of Adjustments retiring in 2007. Survivors include his wife, Pat Minder of Muscatine; four children, Gregg Minder of Muscatine, Rob Minder and wife, Julie, of Muscatine, Lisa Toyne of Muscatine, and Joanna Minder of Muscatine; four step-daughters, Debora Fisk and husband, Terry, of Camdenton, Missouri, Judy Meyer (Ken), of Muscatine, Jane Sauer and husband, Scott, of Muscatine and Lori Troxel of Muscatine; 23 grandchildren, Andy Minder, Steve Minder, Jessica Rahlf, Emily Shield, Jonny Minder, Ian Minder, Zach Minder, Brian Anderson, Marissa Toyne, Tyler Toyne, Matthew Edwards, Claire Edwards, Kearstyn Regennitter, Kourtney Keller, Lindsey Herlein, Randyl Meyer, Melissa Elder, Jordyn Krueger, Jacob Meyerholz, Dylan Meyerholz, Brad Fisk, Matt Fisk and Allison Havemann; 12 great-grandchildren, Drew Minder, Gage and Drake Minder, Clayton and Alexis Rahlf, Jackson and Hayden Shield, Kody Regennitter, Evan Elder, Savannah Ferguson, and Colten and Ava Fisk; one sister, Betty Miller and husband, Bob, of Bettendorf; one niece, Barb Lund of Bettendorf; two nephews, Dave Finley of Chicago, Illinois, and Rick Finley of Coal Valley, Illinois; and numerous others. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one daughter, Susan Minder, in infancy, one son, Steve Minder, and one great-granddaughter, Emma Elder.
