In loving memory of

Steven W. Flinn
November 1, 1961 - July 12, 2021

Steven Walter Flinn, 59, of Elmwood, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Born November 1, 1961, to Harold and RuthAnn Flinn, Steve lived a life of adventure and excitement. Steve grew up riding his motorcycle with his best friends across the Maquon countryside. It was not too long after high school that Steven met the love of his life, Susan (Turner). They married August 8, 1981, and enjoyed almost 40 years of wonderful marriage. Together, they had three children, Mallory (Steve) Miller of Elmwood, Drew (Leslie) Flinn of Peoria, and Graham (Marykate) Flinn of Glen Carbon IL. Steven loved many things in life. As an avid motorcyclist, Steven traveled across many states, countries, and continents on his trustee KTM Motorbike. When Steven was not on the road, you could find him in Peoria managing his property business, or at home tinkering with whatever creative project he had going on. Though the open road was his place for adventure, he loved nothing more than spending time with friends, family, and his wonderful grandchildren, Jack, Harrison, Evelyn, & Lillian Miller and Leona Flinn.
Steve is survived by four siblings, Patricia (Charles) Brown of Galesburg IL, Doug (Tamara) Flinn of Centerburg OH, Edward (Claire) Flinn of Bettendorf, IA, and Mary (Arno) Peterson of Naperville IL; and brothers-in-law Bob (Carolyn) Turner and Mark (Christine) Turner, both of Berwyn PA; and mother-in-law, Janet Turner (the late Bob) of Elmwood. He is preceded in death by his parents, RuthAnn & Harold Flinn.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. held at the church, followed by food and fellowship.
Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center or (AMA) American Motorcyclist Association.
