Jean Marie Hoppenworth, age 93, of Conrad, IA, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, IA. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2021 at Conrad United Methodist Church in Conrad. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Homes in Conrad. Interment will be at Conrad Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent www.andersonfhs.com
Jean was born at home on July 27, 1927 near Tripoli, IA to Bernard and Hulda Moeller. She was united in marriage to Les Hoppenworth on May 11, 1947 in Readlyn, IA. They made their home in Iowa City and Marshalltown prior to moving to Conrad in 1959. Jean lived at Oak Estates and Oakview Nursing Home for the last few years of her life. Jean was active in Girl Scouts, Entre Nous Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and in her church. She did numerous volunteer activities and enjoyed many hobbies. She and her husband enjoyed traveling together prior to his death.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gloria Dielschneider (Nile) and Carol Hilsabeck (Dave); her grandchildren, Cari deSilva (Brian), Jodi Parsons (Adam), Tony Dielschneider (Meagan), Staci Allan (Greg), and Kyle Hilsabeck (Rachel), and also 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce, her husband, Les, and her brothers, Virgil, Loren, and Robert Moeller.
