MUSCATINE, Iowa - Cynthia A. Kauffman, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at SunnyBrook.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Grace Lutheran Church. Reverend Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Hospice Compassus. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Cynthia was born on September 16, 1941, in Faribault County in Minnesota, the daughter of Earl and Gertrude Simmons Thompson. She married Russell Gail Kauffman on November 25, 1960, in Elmore Minnesota.
She worked as a secretary for West Middle School, Area Education Agency, and later for Grace Lutheran Church.
Cynthia was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, traveling and being around people.
She is survived by her children, Katherine K. Ternes and her husband, Tim, of Iowa City, Gregory G. Kauffman and his wife, Judy, of Muscatine, Melissa L. Fourneau and her husband, Ismael, of Muscatine; eight grandchildren, Cody Kauffman, Whitney Leza, Chad Hunter, JD Hunter, Michael Hunter, Neal Ternes, Sidney Rudolph, and Olivia Fourneau; 12 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Philip Thompson of Pipestone, Minnesota.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Mary Richardson and Janice Ehrich.
