Charles Hodges Boatwright
June 11, 1932 - July 9, 2021

Charles Hodges Boatwright, 88, passed away July 9, 2021 peacefully in his home in Bradenton Florida. He was born in Rossville Georgia on July 11, 1932. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Vencie K. Boatwright who was with him at his bedside.
He was a proud member of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He worked as a long haul truck driver until retirement. He faithfully attended First Baptist Atlanta and Sarasota Baptist. Charles loved his family and enjoyed Georgia Tech sports, and Atlanta Braves Baseball. He is also survived by his children and their spouses Pastor Rodney W. and Donna Boatwright, Donna Boatwright Hampton and Rick Hampton, and Kenneth and Margie Boatwright. He was a loving Grandpa to his grandchildren and their spouses Megan Boatwright Cowley and Jake Cowley, Bethany Boatwright Tabailloux and Tim Tabailloux, Ben and Aimie Boatwright, Michael Hampton, and Kate Hampton Hedges and Jordan Hedges and his great grandchildren Millie and Claire Cowley, Liesel, Cecily, and Rosie Tabailloux. Jadyn, Owen, and Rhett Hedges. He is also survived by his siblings Aubrey Boatwright, James Boatwright, Ruby Pierce, and Estelle Sechler. He was predeceased by by his parents, Mary Lou and George Boatwright and his siblings George W Boatwright Jr., Wilma Gray, Mary Evans, and Orsatti Boatwright. A memorial service will be held August 7 at 11:00 am at South Seminole Baptist Church East Ridge, Tennessee for family and friends in the Chattanooga area. A second memorial service will be held in Bradenton Florida on August 13 at 10:00 am followed by a 2:00 pm interment at the National Cemetery Sarasota Florida.
