Francisco Zapata COLUMBUS CITY, Iowa - Francisco Javier Zapata, 34, of Columbus City, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at his home. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Father Paul Appel will officiate. Casketbearers will be Jorge Zapata, Josh Zapata, Randy Miguel Zapata, Emmanuel Zapata and Alberto Zapata. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery. Following the committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be at St. Joseph Church Egert Hall. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, with a Rosary Prayer service at 8 p.m., Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Zapata was born March 12, 1973, in Puebla, Mexico, the son of Juan Antonio and Anna Maria Zamora Zapata. He worked as a forklift driver at Heinz in Muscatine. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his children, his brothers, his special friend, Marisol, and playing his PlayStation 3. He will be dearly missed by four children, Derek Zapata, Carlos Zapata, Alexandrea Zapata and Kristina Zapata, all of Muscatine; his parents; and seven brothers, Jorge Zapata and wife, Esmeralda, and their children, Junior, Luis and Jose, of Columbus City, David Zapata and wife, Juanita, of California, Juan Jose Zapata and wife, Luci, and their daughter, Kiara, of Hawaii, Josh Zapata and wife, Samantha, and their son, Seth, of Virginia, Randy Miguel Zapata of Columbus City, Emmanuel Zapata of Virginia and Alberto Zapata of Columbus City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
