John Wilson LEXINGTON, Ill. - John L. Wilson, 73, of Lexington, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. Services were today at the Lexington Community Church. The Rev. Bill Brown officiated. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lexington. Memorials may be made to the Lexington Community Church Building Fund. Arrangements were handled by the Calvert and Musselman Funeral Home in Lexington. Mr. Wilson was born July 27, 1934, in Mountain View, Mo., the son of Lisle and Vera (Eggenburg) Wilson. He married Marlene Lewis on Nov. 16, 1952, in Rock Island. He was employed in the meat packing industry for over 47 years and retired from Indiana Packers in Delphi, Ind. He was a member of the Lexington Community Church, where he was active as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher and served on the expansion committee. He enjoyed spending time with his family and making and playing games with them. He also enjoyed carpentry. His greatest loves were his church and his family. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Cyndy (Tracy) West of Loami, Ill., Christine Vincent of Joplin, Mo., Connie (Steve) Hoselton of Lexington and Candace (Anand Kumar) Wilson of Clarksburg, Md.; two brothers, William (Mary) Wilson of Iowa City and Vernon (Jennie) Wilson of Muscatine; four sisters, Margaret (William) Thompson of Grandview, Beatrice (Pete) McCleary of Muscatine, Ella Mae (the late Jim) Brotherton of Grandview and Mary Jane (Donald) Carter of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Jason and Candi Vincent, Tiffany and Ron Dykmann, Stephanie and Jason Klingler, Angela and Jeff Miller and George Hoselton; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
