WITTMANN, Arizona - Larry L. Wheeler, 67, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Del West Medical Center in Sun City West, Maricopa, Arizona.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online Condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Larry was born on July 16, 1953, in Muscatine, the son of Lewis L. and Carrie (Marle) Spitznogle Wheeler. He married Peggy Starkweather on October 3, 2005, in Muscatine.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He loved NASCAR and the Pittsburg Steelers, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, and Chicago Cubs.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Peggy Wheeler of Wittmann, Arizona; his children, Stacey Shaver and her husband, Dan, of Lockridge, Iowa, Gregory Scott Wheeler and his wife, Mackenzie, of Muscatine, Iowa, Jami Wheeler and his wife, Susan, of Buffalo, New York, Carrie Simons and her husband, Chris, of Fairfield, Iowa, Matt Starkweather and his wife, Misty, of Muscatine, Iowa, Aaron Starkweather of Muscatine, Iowa, and Toby Starkweather and his wife, Trisha, of Williamsburg, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and his siblings, Cathy Weikert, and her husband, Terry, of Muscatine, Iowa, Debra Wheeler of New Boston, Illinois, Sandra Miller and her husband, Orval, of Muscatine, and Mark Wheeler, of New Boston, Illinois.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph Wheeler; and nephews, Marcos Wheeler and Jerry Pettit.
