Jess Spitznogle
February 21, 1961 - March 6, 2008

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation for Jess will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Jess O. Spitznogle, 47, of Fruitland, Iowa, formerly of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Casketbearers will be Shaun Beauchamp, Jeff Longhurst, Doug Sides, Jeff Graham, Cayce Norris, and Todd Stammer. Honorary Casketbearer will be Earl Ramirez. Burial will be held in the Drury Reynolds Cemetery will full military rites provided by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Muscatine Moose Lodge. A memorial has been established for a college fund for Jess' son, Bowen. Jess Orsen Spitznogle was born on February 21, 1961, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Jess Merle and Mary Frances (Doak) Spitznogle. Jess served in the United States Navy from 1979-1980. On December 13, 1986, Jess was united in marriage to Debbie Kay Yerington in Muscatine, Iowa. He was employed at HON Oak Laminate for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his son, Bowen. Jess will be deeply missed by his wife, Debbie of Fruitland; one son, Bowen Spitznogle of Fruitland; three sisters, Joyce Grady of Ohio, Frances Lancaster of Ottumwa, Iowa and Nicki Ramirez and her husband, Pedro of Muscatine; his father and mother -in-law, Jim and Rose Yerington; one sister-in-law, Kathy Zaehringer; two brothers-in-law, Jim Yerington and his wife, Kellie and John Yerington and his wife, Jane; his best friend, Shaun Beauchamp; and several nieces and nephews. Jess was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
