Elayne Lowenthal
August 21, 1928 - July 22, 2021

Elayne G. (Tallman) Lowenthal, 92, of Sugar Land, TX, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021. She was the wife of the late Foster R. Lowenthal of Fall River, MA. Elayne was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Otto and Rose Tallman. Elayne's family moved to Fall River, MA in 1941 and she graduated from BMC Durfee High School class of 1946 and then from UMass Dartmouth with a BFA in 1967. With a partner, Elayne created and operated Pot Luck - a gift and housewares store. She was a member of Temple Beth El, the Sisterhood and Hadassah. Elayne was past president of the Fall River Art Association and a member of the Brandeis University Women's organization. Elayne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Foster R. Lowenthal, and her granddaughter Rachel Shira Davis. She is survived by her three daughters, Wallis L. Davis and husband Barry, Jill Brown and husband Thomas, and Harriet Lowenthal; her grandson Hillel Davis and wife Jennifer and their children, Tyler and Jack; her cousin, William Gross and wife Lynda, and many loving friends. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Lowenthal will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 9:00am at the Temple Beth El Cemetery, North Main Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Social distancing and facial coverings are required for the safety of all at the cemetery. Memorial observance will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Building Fund of Temple Beth El, 385 High St., Fall River, MA 02720.
