John Edwin Young died at age 87 on July 30, 2021. He was born August 1, 1933 in St. Thomas, ND where he graduated from High school. He attended North Dakota State College of Science and later was an instructor there.
He married Joyce Carlson June 6, 1954. John and Joyce moved to Rochester in 1970 where he owned a television repair business for 30 years. He enjoyed woodcarving and was a member of Rochester Woodcarvers.
He was ordained by the National Spiritualist Association of Churches and was co-pastor with Joyce at the Rochester church for 25 years.
John is survived by his wife Joyce of 67 years; two children, Debra (Dave) Potter and David Young; two grandchildren, Bryan (Brandy) Potter and Samantha (Jeremy) Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Gracie Potter, Zayden Potter and Sierra Johnson. He was preceded in death by two sons, John Maurice and Paul Bryan.
There will be no memorial service. A private viewing was held July 31.
