Geneva L Kennedy
February 23, 1934 - July 29, 2021

Geneva L Kennedy, of Pickerel, died Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 87 years old. She was born on February 23, 1934, in the town of Norwood, a daughter of John "Gib" and Gladys (McClean) Kaiser.

She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1952.

She married Kenneth Banczak on April 7, 1956 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1982.

Geneva attended Columbia School of Nursing in Milwaukee. She worked at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison as an obstetric nurse. The family moved to Park Forest, Illinois where she raised her family and worked as a cardiac intensive care nurse at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. She moved to Mundelein, Illinois where she worked for a cardiologist and gastroenterologist until retirement in 1987.

She married Edward C. Kennedy on January 2, 1988, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho.

The couple moved to Windfall Lake in Forest County. In 2008 they moved to Pickerel. They enjoyed traveling the United States in their motor home, often joined by grandchildren. They wintered in Arizona for the past 24 years.

Geneva enjoyed sewing, quilting and baking cookies.

Survivors include her husband Edward; a daughter, Amy (Alan) Quig of Pickerel; two sons, Robert Banczak of Flemington, New Jersey, Mark (Melissa) Banczak of Clermont, Florida; three step-daughters, Kathryn (Bill) Moore of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Elizabeth (Jon) Reid of Waukesha, Colleen (Patrick) Taylor of Charlestown, Rhode Island; three step-sons, Edward P. Kennedy of Antigo, David (Susan) Kennedy of Antigo, Robert Kennedy of DePere; 24 grandchildren Brandon (Tiffany) Quig, Jessica (Andy Jensen) Quig, Nathan (Cassidy) Quig, Fabienne (John) Calkins, Serine Banczak, Codie (Zach Casavant) Banczak, Ashley Funck, Wenonah (Brandon Braden) Moore, Adrian (Amanda) Moore, Angus Moore, Beatrice Moore, Nathaniel Reid, Timothy Reid, Walter Reid, Amanda (Travis) Gauthier, Justin (Madeline) Kennedy, Sydney Taylor, Z Taylor, Aberdeen Taylor, Rugen Taylor, Arlen Taylor, Aidan Toebe, Seamus Kennedy, Linus Kennedy; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Theda (Richard) Andres, Judy (Marvin) Ripp, Cathy (Brian) Schneider.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, a brother, John "Buzz" Kaiser; a daughter-in-law Sophie Kobylarz Banczak.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pickerel with Rev. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and on Thursday one hour prior to services at the church.
