Charleen Kay Swanson
March 3, 1937 - November 28, 2020

Swanson (Morgan), Charleen Kay age 83, of Fridley, MN passed away peacefully on November 28th, 2020 after a 5-year battle with Dementia. Char was raised in Sioux City, IA and attended Central High School. She graduated with a BS degree in teaching and psychology from Morningside College. She married Kenneth Swanson in 1960 and they resided between Ames and Sioux City until eventually arriving in Minneapolis, MN. Char began her career as an elementary school teacher in Sioux City and Nevada, IA and then later, taught as a technical education teacher at Herzing University in Minneapolis until her retirement. Her passion was volunteering at Fridley United Methodist Church where she was a long-time member and held many positions in UMW (United Methodist Women). In addition to spoiling her grandchildren, she also enjoyed playing cards and had many wonderful friends from church and her bridge groups. She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Catherine Morgan (Smith) of Sioux City, IA and is survived by her husband Kenneth Swanson, son Kurt Swanson, daughter Michele Lingen (Kevin), and three grandchildren: Nicholas, Christian, and Dylan Valentini. Char was a spirted lady and will be deeply missed by many who had the privilege of knowing her and experiencing her deep generosity.
Celebration of Life Saturday, August 7. 2021 at Fridley United Methodist Church, 680 Mississippi St NE, Fridley, MN. Visitation 10AM Celebration at 11AM.
