In loving memory of

Sotirios I. Mastrodimas
March 16, 1945 - August 7, 2021

Sotirios (Sam) I. Mastrodimas, 76, of Sewell, passed away on August 7, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and cancer.

Born in Evias, Greece to the late John and Maria (nee Kyriakou) Mastrodimas. Beloved husband to Darlene Mastrodimas for over 43 years. Devoted father of John Mastrodimas (Ashley) of Magnolia, Christina Stone (William) of Sewell and Maria Mastrodimas (Maria) of Sewell. Loving Pa-Pou of John, Landon, Colton, Arianna, Jaren, Nathan, Evan, Mariah and Kylah. Dear brother of Evangelos Mastrodimas of Williamstown and Konstandina Karvelis of Greece. Loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Before coming to the United States, Sam was a cook on the Greek cargo ships, as well as serving in the Greek Navy. In 1973 Sam journeyed to the United States to pursue his love of cooking. Not only did Sam land a cooking position at Ponzio's Diner, he landed the love of his life Darlene who was also working there at that time. They married in 1978 and Sam opened Five Points Diner in 1979.

Sam's hard work, dedication and strong will to succeed soon made Five Points one of the most successful diners in South Jersey. On any given afternoon you could walk into the diner and find Sam enjoying a cup of coffee on the counter and discussing politics and religion with the diner regulars. While many believed Sam's greatest accomplishment was the diner, it was his family! He loved spending time with his wife, his children and eventually his 9 grandchildren. A true gentleman who wore a shirt and tie everyday until his last days. He truly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

There will be a viewing from 9:45am to 11:45am on Friday at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer Street, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.

Funeral Mass 12pm at the Church.

Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
