Lowell Schleisman 08/13/2021
October 2, 1926 - August 13, 2021

Lowell B. Schleisman, 94, of Marshalltown, IA, formerly of Conrad, IA, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi - St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Robert Schleisman Scholarship fund of the BCLUW Foundation. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.

Lowell was born on October 2, 1926 to Lester P. and Viola (Bruening) Schleisman in Carroll, IA. He attended Carroll High School and graduated in 1944. Lowell was united in marriage to Joan Wagner in Carroll on September 7, 1948. Throughout his life he worked as a farmer, at the Conrad Coop, DX oil jobber and the Conrad Tire Service. You could always find Lowell playing cribbage, 500, golfing, playing bean bag or cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs. Lowell was very proud to have ridden in RAGBRAI. He also enjoyed watching the sports activities of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially the 1976 Class 1A State Football Champions.

Lowell will be missed by his loving wife of 72 years, Joan and six children: Daniel Schleisman, Mark (Donna) Schleisman, Keith (Connie) Schleisman, David (Joette) Schleisman, Susan (Craig) Qualls, Mary (Greg) Morris, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, three brothers, Lyle Schleisman, Dennis Schleisman, Theodore Schleisman and one sister, June Rose Bernholtz. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Schleisman.
