June 12, 1914 - July 22, 2008

John 'Lloyd' Lee MUSCATINE, Iowa - John Lloyd Lee, 94, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Carrington Place in Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Faith United Church of Christ. The Rev. Teressa Clark will officiate. Honorary casketbearers will be Charlie Morrison, Christian Neels, Lonnie Paullins and Dick Salemink. Casketbearers will be Jacob Neels, Nathan Neels, Chester Hafner, Gary Hafner, Rob Miedema and Chuck Snoap. Burial will be in Cranston Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will follow the services. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Letts Library Fund or the Children's Library Fund at Faith United Church of Christ. Mr. Lee was born June 12, 1914, in Muscatine, the son of John R. and Hattie B. Meeker Lee. On June 7, 1936, he was united in marriage to Marian Paullins in Ryan. Following his wife's death on December 11, 1989, he was united in marriage to Wandalene Paullins on July 17, 1991, in Nashua. He farmed in the Letts area and also worked for Thermogas. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Farm Bureau, was an original member of the L-M School Board from 1960-69 and was a Cedar Township Trustee. He also enjoyed golfing, playing cards and was an avid Cubs fan. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Wanda Lee of Muscatine; two sons, Thomas L. Lee and his wife, Mary, of The Villages, Florida, and Richard A. Lee and his wife, Pam, of Letts; one daughter, Peggy J. Colton and her husband, David, of Muscatine; three stepsons, David J. Eckberg and his wife, Kathy, of Denton, Texas, Douglas L. Eckberg and his wife, Rose Ellen, of Rock Hill, South Carolia, and Daniel M. Eckberg and his wife, Susie, of Grapevine, Texas; two stepdaughters, Diane S. Benge and her husband, Larry, of Crockett, Texas, and Debra J. Schnack and her husband, Robert, of Gold River, California; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Lee and his wife, Loretta, of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marian; one son, John Lee; and three brothers, Donald Lee, Paul Lee and Ike Lee.
