Francis Traxinger
July 4, 1929 - August 15, 2021

Francis Raymond Traxinger, 92, of Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, passed away of natural causes in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 15th, 2021.

Francis was born on July 4, 1929, in South Dakota, he lived in Milford, NJ before settling in Lanoka Harbor in 1987. Predeceased by his son Raymond in 1969, Francis is survived by his wife, Joan Dolores Traxinger and their three sons, David of Manahawkin, New Jersey, James and his wife Diane of Wellington, Florida, and Steven of Toms River; his eleven loving grandchildren Mellissa, Michael, Regan, Danielle, James, Justin, Brandyn, Patrick, Joseph, Alex and Krista; and five adorable great grandchildren Caleb, Abigail Rose, Avery, Cole, and another Abigail Rose; nieces, nephews and extended family. Francis was a patient, proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and giving friend to all who knew him.

Francis was a U.S. Navy veteran and career man in the U.S. Air Force retiring in 1968 as a Master Sergeant with 21 years of service. Thereafter Francis worked tirelessly for Ingersoll Rand Corporation, Jersey Central Power & Light, the Ocean County Utilities Authority and was a NJ State licensed Home Builder.

Francis was a stalwart patriot, He loved his family and friends, was always there to help and was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 6-9 PM at Forked River Funeral and Cremation Service, 1022 Lacey Road, Lacey Township NJ. Francis will be laid to rest with a military tribute on Thursday (time to be announced) at the St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic 'Straw Church' Cemetery, 1213 US-22 Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Following the burial ceremony, family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering. Please message the family for details.
