Janet Green
April 23, 1934 - August 17, 2021

Janet Laverne Green (Johnson), of Elcho, lost her fight against cancer on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. She was 87 years old. She was born on April 23, 1934, in Stephenson, Michigan a daughter of Carl and Signe Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband James "Jim" Green.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Weber and Renee Meduri; four grandchildren, Jessica, Heather, Lisa, and Amber; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Carl Norman (Betty Lou) Johnson and a sister, Bernice (Ray) Hamilton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Stella (Albert) Wetthuhn.

Before moving to Elcho, Wisconsin with her husband, Janet lived in Milwaukee, Chicago, Lombard and Lisle, Illinois, Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona.

Janet had done factory work and was a beautician in the Chicago area. She sold Mary Kay cosmetics. She and her husband owned a Water and Ice store while living in Arizona.

She loved her cats, reading, puzzles, and quilting. Janet was a member of the Summit Lake Cut-Up quilters. She attended St. Luke's Methodist Church in Crandon.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 11 a.m. at the St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Crandon.

"Jan was a wonderful person and I always looked forward to visiting with her at our Quilt Guild. I was lucky enough to buy one of her quilts at her rummage sale and will treasure it. Her daughter, Debbie, longarm quilted it for her."
