Sarah S. Parenti, age 93, of Barnegat, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Friday, August 13, 2021. Born in Newark, she raised her family in Monmouth County, working at the Shadowbrook of Shrewsbury for many years.
Sarah loved the beach, enjoying nature and its serenity. She was a loving wife and mother and cherished grandmother. She loved the Lord her God, and prayed for her family. She was a great cook, loved Frank Sinatra, was generous, and loved a party. She was quiet, did not meddle, and was full of grace...a beautiful soul, born October 9, 1927.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1991; Sarah is survived by her daughter, Susan Hetrick and her husband Gary; her son Tom and his wife Diane; her 6 grandchildren and their spouses; Jessica Hetrick and Jerry Brophy, Justin Hetrick and Anais Mixson, Sarah and Keith Miller, Michele and Josh Nomland, Sean and Christina Sabatka, and Zachary Sabatka; and her 6 great grandchildren; Annika, Elijah, Aiden, Haley, Sophia, and Luke.
Cremation was private. Memorial Services for Sarah will be held on October 11 from 1-4pm, at the Captain’s Inn (big tent, with a celebration of life following), East Lacey Road, Forked River. Please RSVP to Susan Hetrick by October 9. Many thanks to those of you who visited her during her last days. In lieu of flowers, please donate to hospice care.
