In loving memory of

Robert Loeb Karesh
March 12, 1921 - August 21, 2021

Robert Loeb "Bob" Karesh lived a full life and was a friend to all that he met, and a beloved husband, father, Pop-Pop, and 3-Pop. He grew up in the Carolinas, where Karesh comes as close to a common name as it ever will.

After finishing college as a Chemical Engineer at North Carolina State the US Navy sent him to the island of Attu in Alaska. On return from the war, he moved to Chicago to join his brother in a business venture. Although the business venture did not last, it was in Chicago that he met the love of his life, Maxine Schnierow. Their marriage had lasted for nearly 66 years when she pre-deceased him in 2018. Along the way came three children - Gail, David [Carolyn] and Rich, two grandchildren - Hannah [Michael] and Jacob, and two great-grandchildren - Razele and Elnatan.

His career morphed into chemical equipment sales and took him from Chicago to Pennsylvania to New Jersey to North Carolina and back to New Jersey. Finally, on semi-retirement, the lure of grandchildren brought them to Baton Rouge. The grandchildren moved to Texas, and a few years later they followed to Houston, where they remain to this day. They were devoted grandparents who never missed a child's recital. As the great grands came along, the weekly lunches together at the Deli became a fixture of his and their lives. He was kind, caring, always interested in others, grateful for everything, curious, and with wide ranging interests in seemingly everything. He will be missed by all lucky enough to have known him.

With deep gratitude to the THC attendants who enabled him to continue living independently these last few months.

A graveside service was held on Monday morning, August 23, 2021, at 10:30 AM at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77074. Those wishing to view the recording of the service please use the following link: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/591154668
