IRENE McCLEARY MUSCATINE, Iowa - Irene H. McCleary, 80, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Genesis Hospital, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa. Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008, at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, September 26, 2008, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the McCleary family in care of Pat McCleary. Irene was born on November 25, 1927, in Iowa City, the daughter of Ernest and Susie Jameson Krueger. She married James Patrick McCleary Sr. on June 8, 1946, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 2003. She worked at West Junior High cafeteria for 20 years and retired from Wal-Mart in 2004. She was a life member of the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary Number 815. She loved to go to the riverboats. Survivors include three sons, James Patrick McCleary Jr. and wife, Faith, of Muscatine, Terry McCleary of Muscatine, and Larry D. McCleary and wife, Becky, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Pat McCleary of Muscatine, and Sharon McCleary of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, three sisters, and one grandson, Steven.
