Clifford J. McKillip MUSCATINE, Iowa - Clifford J. McKillip, 81, of Muscatine, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009, at the Muscatine Care Center. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Reverend Mary Howell will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites by the combined units of the V.F.W Post No. 1565 and the American Legion Post No. 27. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the New Hope United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the New Hope United Methodist Church in memory of Clifford. Clifford was born on July 25, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of John and Helena Friese McKillip. He married Betty Corder on October 23, 1954, in Muscatine. He was a 1946 graduate of Muscatine High School. Clifford served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for International Harvester in Rock Island, Illinois, and was a member of the United Auto Workers. He was also a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, where he was very active in the United Methodist Men. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and later in life enjoyed gardening. Clifford will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty McKillip of Muscatine; his children, Steven McKillip and wife, Barbara, of Muscatine and Linda Adams and husband, Dan, of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Timothy and Sarah McKillip of Muscatine; two step-grandchildren, Corey Adams of Dubuque and Aaron Adams of Muscatine; four sisters, Velma Truesdale of Muscatine, Anna Morgan and husband, Ralph, of Missouri, Esther Hansen and husband, Melvin, of Durant, and Bernice Stalkfleet of Muscatine; and a brother, Chester McKillip and wife, Joy, of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence and John.
