Chella "Madge" Kumer
Canton-Chella "Madge" Kumer, 83, passed away at 9:53 am Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Graham Hospital in Canton surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 2, 1937 in Canton to John and Bernice (Clutts) Dunbar. They preceded her in death.
She married Emil T. Kumer on February 18, 1967. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1984.
Surviving are her children, Pam Smith of Fillmore, CA, Brian (Cindy) Kumer of Peoria, Max Kumer of Canton, Marcella (Andrew) Gorsuch of Canton, Martin (Nicole Richardson) Kumer of Crozet, VA, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Chellis Dunbar and one sister, Mildred Spyers.
Madge worked as a bookkeeper for Miller Dodge-Chrysler, and Dr. Funes' Office. She served as the treasurer for the Village of Bryant for 30 years retiring in July of 2019. She enjoyed collecting dishes and going to yard sales. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed cooking for her family whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. She made the most delicious sugar cookies. Most of all she was always loving and caring to all her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with a visitation to be held 2 hours prior at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
