Maxine M. Holthaus
Maxine M. Holthaus, 93, of Peoria, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Red Oak Estates Memory Care in Canton.
She was born on May 31, 1928 in Quincy to Clement and Blanche (Lind) Miller. They preceded her in death.
She married A. James Holthaus on June 12, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2004.
She is survived by four children, Maria (the late Tom) Orwig of Canton, Terry (Ginger) Holthaus of Apex North Carolina, James "Jay" (the late Charlotte) Holthaus of Galveston Texas, and Dana (Jennifer) Holthaus of Parkersburg West Virginia, one sister Norma Hoffman of Quincy, six grandchildren; Nick (Angie) Orwig, Brette Orwig, Alexis Holthaus, Jace Holthaus, Jim Holthaus and Joe Holthaus and two great grandchildren; Emma Orwig and Easton Orwig.
Also preceded her in death is five siblings, Ed, Wilma, Dan, Patsy, and infant brother, Gene
Maxine worked in medical records for OSF for many years. Maxine was a very talented seamstress, she won many awards for her creations. She was a past member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton and St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy at 1:00 p.m. Entombment of her ashes will be held at Quincy Memorial Park immediately following the funeral Mass.
