"Kathy was one of my best friends for 50 years. I remember how we would both arrive early to school and sit in the library to start our day together. I remember listening to records in her basement bedroom. I remember driving around Cloquet as teenagers just for "something to do." We lived together in Cloquet in the early 1980s. I remember her many purses, how she put on lipstick before going anywhere, and when we bought white Nikes and matching white jackets at the same time. She was one who loved her "huivi." She was kind and was one of the people in my life who never hurt me. She had strong views but was one to mind her own business and accept people as they are. She was a keen observer of the world. Kathy was smart and oh so funny! We had so many private jokes throughout the years. She was a good and loyal friend who maintained our connection across the years and across the miles. I will miss her. "
