Patricia "Pat" Fidler
Canton - Pat Fidler, 93, of Canton, passed away on September 6th, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on May 4, 1928 in Canton, to William and Blanche (Long) Deer. They both preceded her in death.
Pat married Bill Fidler, who was the love of her life. She is survived by her nephew, who was like a son, Eddie (Cindy) Breese, great nephew Darren (Jeannie) Breese, great niece Brenda (Darren) Sprague, great-great nieces; Kayla (Chase) Welker, Allison Sprague and fiancé Nic Scapecchi, Macie Sprague, Delanie Breese and great-great nephew Jacob Breese. Pat had a great-great-great nephew and niece Brynden and Brexley Welker all who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Fidler, a sister Berniece Anderson and a brother Richard Deer. Pat worked for and retired from Illinois Bell- AT&T after 40 years. She received service awards for not missing a single day of work for 18 years with an additional award for never missing a day for 17 years.
She was a member of the Canton and Farmington Moose Lodge. She was a member of the American Legion and Telephone Pioneers. Pat loved spending time with her family and going to family gatherings. She was well known for her home-made pies and made the best in the area.
Her passion was dancing every weekend with friends and listening to country music.
Services will be 2 pm Friday, September 10, 2021 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
