Barbara Pearl Boehme WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Barbara Pearl Boehme, 75, West Liberty, died Monday, April, 6, 2009. Celebration of life luncheon: 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, Moose Lodge, 207 Lake Park Blvd. Memorials may be made to the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Boehme was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Galesburg, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Helen (McKim) Humphrey. She was reared by her grandparents, John and Stella Hayes of Monmouth, Ill. She married Vernon R. Boehme Feb. 14, 1953, making Muscatine her home. She attended rural elementary schools in Monmouth. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1950. She worked as office manager of Warren County Farm Bureau. She was secretary for Edward Walworth, farm advisor. She retired from Elder Implement, Nichols, in 1990, after 30 years. She worked at Plamor Lanes until her health presented a problem. She enjoyed visiting with friends. Her favorite pastimes were bowling, playing cards, bingo and dancing. She enjoyed visiting and playing cards with her grandchildren, the joys of her life. She was treasurer of the Women's Bowling Association. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. She is survived by her children, Kristine Boehme, Daytona Beach, Fla., and Donald Boehme and wife, Tammy, West Liberty; three grandchildren, Jake, Nick and Zoey Boehme. She was preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandparents; an infant son, Michael Vern and her former husband, Vernon.
