Samuel Gene Langstaff INDIANOLA, Iowa - Samuel Gene Langstaff, 30, was killed in a car accident on May 23, 2009, along with his wife, Jackie Langstaff. Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. A private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the Letts United Methodist Church, with a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Sam was born on December 21, 1978, in Muscatine, the son of Gene and Susan Bailey Langstaff. He lived in rural Wapello and graduated from Louisa-Muscatine High School, Letts in 1997. He graduated from Simpson College in 2001 with a bachelor's in communications. He married Jackie Haupert on July 22, 2006, in Jefferson, Iowa. He worked for Nationwide and Principal in Des Moines during his career. He was a member of the Letts United Methodist Church. He is survived by his parents, Susan and Gene Langstaff of Wapello; brothers, Luke Langstaff and wife, Jen, and their children, Alex and Makayla of Elk River, Minnesota, and Mitch Langstaff of Stillwater, Oklahoma; his grandmother, Dorothy Bailey of Letts; great-aunt and uncle, Betty Houseman and husband, Jim, of Muscatine, Imogene Bailey of Wapello, Evan Bailey of Terrill, and Lyle Hanft of Texas; aunts and uncles, Kris Bailey and husband, Larry, of Alaska, Karen Schaapueld and husband, Dan, of North Liberty, Molly Langstaff and husband, Dean, of Davenport; and many cousins, friends and other family will deeply miss him.
