"Monte was one of the great, positive influences in my life growing up. I learned about Priesthood service from him. I know I frequently made him crazy but he was patient yet straightforward with me. I have many memories of camping trips. I learned many lessons both in and out of classroom settings from him. It was Monte Tanner who influenced me to develop what little singing ability I have. I always wanted to be able to sing like Monte. He was a great man in my life and that of my family for countless years. "
