Roy G. Hawley
December 10, 1939 - September 14, 2021

Roy G. Hawley, age 81, of Pine Island, Minnesota passed away on September 14, 2021 at St. Marys. Roy was born on December 10, 1939 to parents George and Beata (Melom) Hawley in Blue Earth, Minnesota.

Roy married Ardith (Ardy) L. Vander Plas on November 7, 1959. Roy served in the Minnesota National Guard and worked at IBM as a procurement engineer for 33 years and retired in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and being in the Pine Island Saddle Club. Roy could be described as a "jack of all trades" and a Master of All. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.

Roy is survived by his children, Judith (Roger) Walkes, Janette (Rick) Dohlman, Elaine (Duane) Sanford, Ruthie (Bill) Brown and Elizabeth (Timothy) Blomquist; grandchildren, Melaney (Mark) Olsen, Rachel Walkes, Brent (Ashley) Dohlman, Brandon (Laura) Dohlman, Brian (Amanda) Dohlman, Amanda (Cyrus) Hickman, Laura (Brad) Schmidt, Cole (Amy) Nielsen, Jade (Guy) Gonzales, Garrit (Rachel) Wood, Alex (Janae) Blomquist, Keri (Brandon) Hall, Kayla Sneller (Austin); 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Hawley of Midland, TX; and sister, Janice Heusinkveld of Rochester.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardy; sister, Joyce Snyder; and son-in-law, Todd Nielsen.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN. The service will be livestreamed on the Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Ranfranzandvine/ Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 17 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
