In loving memory of

Nanci M. Shambo
November 10, 1958 - September 13, 2021

Nanci Shambo, 62, of Marlboro, NY, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was born on November 10, 1958 in Kingston, NY, the daughter of Claire and George McDonough. Nanci was married to Daniel Peter Shambo. Together they created precious memories before he passed in 1998.

Nanci was a woman of many trades, she worked for Huck International, Kingston, NY, where she was a machinist for many years. Nanci had a big heart, always having others in her thoughts before her own. Giving advice and being there for others was her mission. She was an avid outdoorsman who could outshoot her husband. Once she brought home a six-point buck and her husband was empty handed! She adored fishing and camping with friends and family. She also enjoyed music and dabbling in the arts. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was not afraid to laugh at herself. Maintaining contact with her loved ones was very important to her. Her heart was full when she was with her grandsons.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel Shambo of Kingston, Nicholas Hosino and his wife Katye of Newburgh, her grandsons, Mason and Connor, her father, George McDonough of Colorado, her mother, Claire McDonough of Rhinecliff, her brothers, Ken McDonough of California, Vincent McDonough and his wife Gina Saraceno of Kingston; her nephews, David and Jack McDonough, Chuck McDonough and his husband Matt Myetich of Iowa, her father in law, Donald Shambo, her sister in law, Danna Shambo, her brothers in law, Kevin and Darryl Shambo, her nephew Devan Shambo, her nieces, Kathy, Ren, Hannah, Molly and Maggie Shambo, her aunt, Carol Lee McDonough, and her cousins, Kevin and his wife Lori McDonough and Timothy McDonough. Nanci is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Shambo.
