Louise Johnson, 92, of Story City passed away peacefully on September 19, 2021. A visitation will be held on 4-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, with a Mass of Christian Burial held Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. September 23, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 14238 500th Ave, Ames, with burial at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Louise was born on November 11, 1928, to Lawrence and Anna (Elsner) Wirth in the family home along with her twin sister, Anna. Louise was one of nine children, guaranteeing there was always someone to have fun with throughout her lifetime. Louise was a graduate of Gilbert High School with the class of 1946. Louise married the love of her life, Richard Johnson, on September 26, 1950, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Gilbert. The couple farmed until they moved to Ames in 1992. Louise loved spending time with family and friends and was always eager to play a card game of 500.

Louise is survived by her children: Roger (Nancy) Johnson of Story City, Theresa (Michael) Phillips of Otho, Donald (Shari Reilly) Johnson of Story City, and Elaine (Roy) Crawford of Blanchard, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren: Kristin (Brad) Taylor, Jeremy (Jeni) Johnson, Heidi (Ian Simanonok) Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Brian (Jessie) Crawford, Andrea Crawford, and Abigail (Stephan) Tarpley, seven great grandchildren: Zachary, Brendan and Amber Taylor, Libbie and Owen Johnson, Nora Phillips, and Alexander Crawford. She is survived by three siblings: twin sister, Anna Tressler, Marlene Michaud, and Arnie Wirth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Anna Wirth, husband, Richard, daughter-in-law, Jean, and siblings: Marie Swenson, Dorthy Zeisneiss, Leonard Wirth, Alma Heintz, and Rita Bielefeldt.
