Donna D. Ryan MUSCATINE, Iowa - Donna D. Ryan, 83, Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine with her family at her side. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home. Dr. Bruce Ursin will officiate. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 400 Iowa Ave. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the church in her name. Donna was born on January 15, 1926, in Milton, the daughter of Roulette and Esther Slonaker Hagler. She married Gene W. Ryan on April 1, 1945, in Milton. He preceded her in death. She enjoyed her role as homemaker for her husband and children. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She was a past state president of the Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs and of the local Keystone chapter. In later years, she worked as a marketing officer for Community National Bank. She enjoyed gardening her roses, making porcelain dolls, sewing, ballroom dancing, and especially cooking and entertaining for friends and family. She will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Ryan of Muscatine, Sheila Kistenmacher and husband, Larry, of Davenport; four grandchildren, Paula Ryan, Jesse Ryan, Ryan Kistenmacher and Lindsey Kistenmacher; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
