ALAN L. YEARY
WINFIELD, Iowa - Alan L. Yeary, 70, of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the University of Iowa.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place Tuesday morning in Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Alan was born on August 4, 1951, in Pennington Gap, Viriginia, the son of Lewis Paul and Flora Elizabeth Edds Yeary. He married Pamela Niles on October 14, 1995, in Nashua.
Alan served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1978.
Alan worked at Canadian Pacific Railroad as the mechanical supervisor for 30 years before he retired. He built a 1928 Phaeton Model A Ford. Alan enjoyed country western singles dancing, watching Westerns, the Discovery Channel, and the History Channel. Alan loved to go hunting in the winter with his son. He also enjoyed going for rides on his Honda Goldwing with his wife, which included his rides to Missouri, Arizona, California, Idaho, and Virginia. Alan loved his goldendoodle, Patches.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; four children, Alan (Al) L. Yeary Jr. and his significant other, Freda, of Ewing, Virginia, Christopher J. Grady and his significant other, Kara Steinke, of Fruitland, Shane L. Grady and his wife, Jeannie, of New Boston, Illinois, and Shannon D. Wieskamp of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren, Raven Kopf and her husband, Coleton, Wayne, Kyle, and Kalissa Yeary, Kayla Sonderberg, Tanner McCulley, Jonas and Rowan Wieskamp, and Hayley, Garrett, Leah, and Keely Roberson; six great grandchildren, Colt Kopf, Addie and Norman Bean, Brantley and Rhett Tincher, and Carver Roberson; and one sister, Nora Lavern Hoshaw of Carol Stream, Illinois.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mildred Brooks Yeary.
